The kernel, drivers, services, Security Accounts Manager, and user interface use this Windows registry. Apart from that, Windows Registry contains all information about your PC settings, options, and other values for all programs and hardware installed on the operating system. For instance, when you install a program on your computer, a new sub-key containing settings, program’s location, version, and how to start the program are added to this Registry. When you open a program on the computer, it accesses the Registry file and then operates them.
If Windows Registry gets corrupt, then your computer will stop working. So, before making any changes to Windows Registry, it is always recommended to take a backup of the Registry file. If something goes wrong, you can restore them to their original position.
