How to Install Windows 11 with a Local Account?

When you install a fresh Windows 11, Microsoft insists you sign in to your Windows 11 account with a cloud email account. However, most Windows users are not happy with this and want to set up a local account. Many Windows users prefer to have an account not connected to the internet.

How to Set up Windows 11 with a Local Account?

To install Windows 11 with a local account, use these steps:-

Step 1. We assume you have already created a bootable USB drive for Windows 11 and started installing it on your PC. When you see the “Let’s add your Microsoft account” window, click the Sign-in options button.

Step 2. Next, choose the Offline account option.

Step 3. In the following screen, click the Limited experience link.

Step 4. Then, enter the local user account name you would like to use on your Windows 11 PC and click the Next button.

Step 5. Now, Windows will prompt you to “Enter a password.” Enter the password that you will use to sign in to your Windows 11 and click the Next button.

Step 6. In the following screen, type the same password again to confirm. Then, click the Next button.

Step 7. Now, you will be welcomed with three security questions. Select the security question and reply with your answer. Your Windows PC will store these security questions and answers, so in case you forgot your password, you can reset using that credentials.

You need to select three security questions one by one and need to reply them. After that, click the Next button.

Step 8. Once you finish the above steps, Windows will show you privacy options that you can toggle according to your needs.

After this, Windows will do its initial setup, and the PC will boot.
